For those seeking work in the days where no human or computer can keep up with technology, nothing is more frustrating than inputting the same personal information over and over again when applying for jobs online. For those not familiar with the process, here’s how it goes. You scour through online job postings for hours to find a position with Company A you feel you qualify for, and spend another half hour or so filling out the job application(resume, work history, etc…). Finally you finish up and start the process over again. Eventually you find another position you qualify for with a different company we will call Company B. Well guess what? You have to input the same exact personal information (resume, work history, etc…) that you just did with Company A. So basically you spend hours, days, and months doing the same exact thing everyday.
My idea is to create one secure central website/database that stores your personal career information(college, resume, work history, skills, qualifications, etc…). This same database will have one job application format that all companies will use and share when applicants are pursuing jobs. For example, let’s say you are applying for a position at Company C. All you would have to do is put your username and password from the secure central website/database and all your information would automatically fill out the application and you could apply in an instant saving boatloads of time and energy. Find another job at Company D, put in your username and password and instantly your information fills the application and is ready to be sent.
I realize my idea needs to be tweaked and fine-tuned, but just imagine how much time and energy can be saved for the job-pursuer while job-hunting.
